Meet the Team

Brian’s connection to the outdoors began in childhood, growing up in Wiltshire where he spent his days climbing trees, building dens, and squeezing every moment out of daylight. These early explorations laid the foundation for a lifelong love of adventure and discovery.

His skills developed further through the Wiltshire Army Cadets, where he learned resilience, survival techniques, and leadership — lessons that would shape his future career.

By 2007, Brian had earned his SPA Rock Climbing Instructor qualification, followed shortly after by his Mountain Leader Award. Since then, he has worked in the mountaineering and climbing industry for more than two decades. A highlight of his career was helping to establish Rockstar Climbing in Swindon, where he worked as Operations Manager for over seven years, introducing hundreds of people to the joy of climbing.

Brian has also given back to the community through six years of service with Wiltshire Search and Rescue, starting as a Search Technician and later becoming Training Officer. His guiding philosophy has always been clear: the outdoors should be a place of safety, accessibility, and wonder for everyone.

In 2008, Brian founded Rockyventures Ltd, which has grown into a thriving business offering:

• Rock climbing and guided mountain walks
• First aid and navigation training
• Inclusive and adaptive adventure activities
• Team-building and corporate experiences
• Charitable partnerships and community outreach

Based in Wiltshire but working across the UK, Brian continues to inspire walkers, climbers, and adventurers of all abilities. Whether it’s a first navigation course or a demanding mountain trek, his aim is always the same: to help people discover, explore, and appreciate the outdoors.
